Electronic / Indie / R&B
Life has its fair share of ups and downs, but music is there through it all. Gabe Acheson, aka Goldwash, helps point to the silver (or perhaps gold) lining in all experiences: he uses his music to turn “shitty experiences into positive things,” pain into art. Born in London, raised in Baltimore, and now living in Los Angeles, the songwriter deals with the rollercoaster of life through his relatable and poignant songwriting.
Self-described as “existential funk” because “jazz-infused indie-electronic baroque-soul” is a bit of a mouthful, Acheson’s music is a stirring blend of R&B, soul, and electronic. Acheson studied composition and music theory at Yale while also learning songwriting and studio production. After graduating from college, his career took off in 2016 with independently released singles and his LDR EP. In 2017, Goldwash released his second EP, Episode, which received praise and attention from Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist, Mass Appeal, and Clash Magazine.
